For me I comment on interesting topics like this. Usually I would read the title of the post first, if interesting proceed to read the rest of the post. I dun usually comment unless I got special views to share.

However I do agree that commenting helps both for the blogger as well as the commenter. :)

i love commenting, specially if the blog is dofollow ;) and if it has "subscribe to email"

of course aside from that, i'm gaining friends and learning a lot from them as well.

take note that "meaningful comment" is different from "merely comment", the latter is mostly for spammer.

make sure that when you leave a comment, it will create additional thread for that post.

Google loves others to comment as well, the more comments you have on a post the better your search rank will be

Commenting helps in many ways.I dont just blindly comment on blogs,I only comment when author asks question at the end of the post or if i want to say something to reader or author.

And automatically it will help to build relationship :)
